In the face of COVID-19’s disruption of our transportation systems (and many years of progress on sustainable mobility), Mary will share her insights on the opportunities we now face to re-imagine transportation so that it helps increase ridership, achieve greater equity, and support a new wave of good jobs in the future.

Mary is a globally recognized leader in harnessing the power of philanthropy and community building to design cities that are sustainable, inclusive, and vibrant. A  strategist, change maker, and climate defender, Mary travels widely to bring globally pioneering strategies to the United States to improve mobility and resiliency for all people.

Mary Skelton Roberts led the City of Boston’s Go Boston 2030 transportation planning process which set a new standard for public engagement; and, helped catalyze Climate Ready Boston, the City’s first comprehensive analysis of climate vulnerability and the first multi-neighborhood resilience plan in the United States.

Mary holds a master’s degree in city planning from MIT; mediation and facilitation accreditations from Harvard Law School and the Center for Dispute Resolution in London. And is noted both nationally and internationally for her collaborative problem-solving and dispute resolution of complex issues in the United States and internationally.

She is bi-lingual, bi-cultural, and a native Spanish Speaker of Afro-Cuban heritage – and very engaged in issues related to children and Latino communities.
